- Bayern Munich Agree Deal to Sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool
Bayern Munich have secured the signing of Luis Diaz from Liverpool. The total package is worth €75 million, with all terms agreed between both clubs. Liverpool have granted permission for the medical, confirming the final step of the deal.
The Colombian winger had expressed his intention to leave Anfield. Bayern pushed to meet Liverpool’s demands, and the breakthrough came after hours of direct talks on Monday. The deal includes guaranteed payments and structured add-ons.
Diaz will now undergo his medical tests before signing a four-year contract. He will become part of Vincent Kompany’s squad ahead of the new Bundesliga season. His arrival follows internal approval from Liverpool and the player’s clear stance on moving to Germany.
Bayern’s board views Diaz as a top-level addition on the left flank. With Leroy Sane’s future still uncertain, the club acted fast to secure a new wide option. Liverpool accepted the offer once Diaz’s decision became final and the fee met expectations.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in 2022. He made a strong impact in the Premier League and Champions League. His pace, direct style, and ability to break lines made him a fan favourite. Now, he will take those qualities to the Allianz Arena.
Sporting director Max Eberl personally led the talks. Bayern moved ahead of interest from other clubs, closing the transfer before the end of July. They wanted the player available for pre-season.
From Liverpool’s side, the transfer frees up space for new signings. The club is targeting at least one replacement before the window closes. Names such as Nico Williams and Eberechi Eze have been linked.
Diaz has already said goodbye to teammates and staff. His representatives confirmed the agreement late last night. Bayern will announce the transfer once the medical is completed.
The winger will wear shirt number 7 in Munich. He becomes Bayern’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Hiroki Ito, Michael Olise, and Nestory Irankunda. His official presentation is expected later this week.
Soccerpicks will continue to provide real-time updates on transfers across Europe as the summer window progresses.
