- Rúben Amorim Open to Reuniting with Sancho, Antony, and Garnacho
Manchester United boss Rúben Amorim has issued a firm update on the future of Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho amid continued transfer speculation. Speaking after reports linked the trio with potential moves away from Old Trafford, Amorim made his position clear.
If they reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players,
Amorim said. His words come as negotiations around player sales continue behind the scenes.
Sancho, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has yet to secure a permanent move. Despite interest from Bundesliga sides, no agreement has been reached. Amorim’s comments suggest the England winger could still play a role in the squad this season if no buyer comes forward.
Antony has also been linked with a departure following a lacklustre season under former boss Erik ten Hag. Interest has emerged from Brazil and Saudi Arabia, but a firm bid has not materialised. Amorim remains unfazed.
If the club doesn’t get the right price, they will stay. I am ready to receive the players,
he added.
Garnacho, the youngest of the trio, has received offers from clubs in Spain, but Manchester United are believed to value him highly. Amorim’s stance reflects the club’s position — players are only available if offers match the club’s expectations.
United are preparing for a new campaign under Amorim’s leadership, and the Portuguese coach is focused on shaping a balanced team. His openness to integrating returning players underlines his pragmatic approach to squad management.
The manager’s response also highlights a shift in tone from previous months when departures were expected. With the transfer window still open, things could still change, but for now, Amorim’s message is clear — all three players are still part of the club unless a deal that satisfies Manchester United is agreed.
Sancho’s situation remains delicate. Dortmund are yet to return with a follow-up offer, while Antony’s future hinges on whether clubs outside Europe table a formal bid. Garnacho remains under contract, and his sale would only occur under special terms.
For now, all three players have returned to Carrington for pre-season assessments. Training sessions will give Amorim a chance to evaluate their readiness and attitude before the Premier League opener.
Manchester United fans remain divided. Some want a clean break, others believe the players still have value. Amorim, however, is keeping emotions out of it. His only condition is the club’s valuation.
This stance will shape the remaining weeks of the window, as United balance rebuilding with financial realities. Whether Sancho, Antony, or Garnacho stay or leave, one thing is certain: the manager is prepared either way.
